I once had one as a loaner from BMW, and I hated it with a passion. I couldn’t get comfortable behind the wheel, as if the steering wheel wasn’t centered, the car felt cheap-ish despite its price tag, it was an auto and they obviously used an older auto box than in the BMWs at the time. Being called a Cooper, I think John Cooper would roll around in his grave if he knew that his name was attached to that thing.

I like it a lot better in person than I thought I would. I’m still not sure about the square-ish headlights but I like the design overall.

Went car browsing with some of the Wichitoppos today. The Mini dealer was like 75% Countrymen and they all look like garbage.

Props for having a Mini which is actually... mini.

The Countryman is the money maker for MINI. It allows them to make the Coopers and the Clubmans.

I have to admit I kinda like the Countryman and it is still rather small for a crossover/SUV-ish thing. Sure it’s big for a MINI but it is small for it’s class.

I honestly don’t mind the way it looks and prefer it over the 1st generation Countryman.

I will admit that new MINIs are overpriced. BMW seems to do pretty well selling the Countryman as a more characterful option to the X1 so whatever. I wouldn’t buy one but I’m not the target market.
